Satanized-Technical Virginity (2011)

technical virginity
I have really come to love harsh noise rock, especially when the artists are able to strike a nice balance between of very technical playing and harsh walls of sound.  The problem, however, is finding artists within such a tight niche.  Satanized are one such artist.

I had been recommended this album when it first came out, and for some reason I, like many people, completely ignored it.  Skin Graft's announcement of the releasing of this album in an ultimate edition reminded me of it, and I am glad it did.

Technical Virginity is an album which would lies someplace between the music stylings of White Suns and Sightings.  The vocalist holds all of the ferocity of White Suns' Kevin Barry, and the instruments are often quite similar.  Satanized, however, pick up the tempo slightly, use more abstract drum patterns, and alternate between repetitious guitar notes and extremely technical bursts.

The album starts off with a few minutes of harsher ambience, but quickly kicks into an all-out. in-your-face, Freudian themed assault.  Track titles such as 'The Rites of Sodomy' and 'Raise the Flaccid Horn' can suggest the overall theme of this album.  Don't let this dissuade you from listening to this album, though, because aside from the immaturely mature themes, technical virginity is a fantastic, albeit uncompromising, listen.

Don't confuse this band for the death metal band of the same name.  Go Here to check out a track from Technical Virginity, and go purchase the ultimate edition Here.

Also, if you know of any albums similar to this one, please let me know in the comments section and I will be sure to check them out.
